Learning keyboard shortcuts is one of the easiest ways to speed up your After Effects workflow.

Here are five shortcuts worth memorizing:

P – Position
Shows the Position property of the selected layer.

S – Scale
Quickly opens the Scale controls.

R – Rotation
Displays Rotation settings.

T – Opacity
Opens the Opacity property.

U – Animated Properties
Shows properties that contain keyframes or expressions.

The U shortcut is particularly useful when working with complex compositions. Instead of opening every property manually, you can immediately see what is animated.

You do not need to memorize dozens of shortcuts at once. Start with the ones you use most frequently and gradually add new ones to your workflow.

Over time, shortcuts can significantly reduce the amount of clicking and searching through menus.
